Certification Disclaimer and Tips
All study towards exam certification requires lots or reading and researching. The aim of Trevdogcertified is to make this easier by supplying the following information :
- Exam objectives
- 10 sample questions
- Terms and Techniques
- Textbooks worth buying
Note that Trevdogcertied will not be held responsible for exam results and will not supply any more than 10 exam questions and answers. These are only intended as an insight into what each exam expects you to know, and how the format of the exams look. We recommend reading textbooks, studying the exam objectives, terms and techniques, and taking example tests as supplied by the following recommended exam providers (in alphabetical order)...
Many of the recommended study books come with hundreds of sample questions. Recommended textbooks providers are listed below (in alphabetical order)...
The above example exams are quite often referred to as braindumps and can closely resemble actual test questions. Do not rely solely on these exams as this will only provide you with a paper certification. At the end of the day, you want to feel confident sitting in front of a prospective employer answering questions, and confident in your work abilities. Use them as another tool in researching all that your exam objectives expect you to know.
If you have the chance, set up a test network using a spare computer. Install server and workstation software and try exercises as outlined in the textbooks. Create and break, create and break the software installed. This way, you can deal with real life disasters, as you have created and troubleshooting those before in your own time, rather than on the job when mission critical issues arise.
Most certification exams will have 50-60 questions and allow 60-90 minutes of exam time. The exam providers such as Comptia and Microsoft often allow for exam question reviews and answer changes at the end of the exams but this is not the golden rule. Always come prepared to the exams, a few minutes early, and have eaten and had a tiolet break before starting your exam. That way you can relax and concentrate on the exam for the next hour or more.
Certification exams can be scheduled and payed for via several testing centers. Trevdogcertified recommends Prometric (http://www.prometric.com). Most exams from Microsoft for example are approximately $125 USD.
Hopefully all of the resources supplied by Trevdogcertified will enable more people to become not only certified, but confident in their abilities to install and configure software, and troubleshoot I.T. issues in real life.
I hope this helps many people to improve their resumes and income!
Happy certifiying...
Cheers,
TrevDog.
