The following is a tutorial on Adobe Photoshop. It is the basis for creating text reflections.

Start a new document as shown below. (File -> New from the menu)

From the Toolbar, choose the Text tool.

Click on your new document and enter some test such as "Reflections".

If you like you may choose another colour such as red in this case from the colour pick.

Highlight your text and click on the colour you have chosen from the foreground colour area on the toolbar.

After resizing and choosing the colour, your text is ready to be reflected!

Drag the layer for your text down to the "Add New Layer" button at the bottom of the layers palette as shown below.

The layer palette now display the copy of the layer.

From the Menu, Choose Edit -> Transform -> Flip Vertical as shown below.

Drag the reflected copy downwards until there is no gap between the 2 images.

Now add a Layer Mask by clicking on the "Add layer mask" button at the bottom of the layers palette while the reflected layer is still highlighted.

Click on the Gradient button from the toolbar.

Note that the gradient in this case is running from dark to light.

Now drag a line from bottom to top or bottom to half way up the original text image. How far you drag will effect how much of an effect you will see.

The end result is shown below.
